After I gave my life to Christ, the Holy Spirit began to change me, starting with the way I thought and lived.
He showed me what it meant to live with purpose. Just like our Heavenly Father is intentional with us, He was calling me to be intentional too.
I remember one New Year’s Eve, I was praying and asking the Holy Spirit what He wanted me to focus on in the year ahead. His answer was simple but clear: Be intentional.
At the time, it felt easy to do. Life was just me—I had space, time, and energy to focus on being intentional.
But everything changed when I became a mom.
I had this sweet idea of what motherhood would look like: baby snuggles, cute outfits, happy little moments.
But the reality?
Sleepless nights. So many emotions. Days when I didn’t even feel like myself.
I was doing everything for everyone, yet I still felt disconnected, like I was just going through the motions.
Sometimes I’d cry, not because anything was terribly wrong, but because I felt so lost.
And then the Holy Spirit gently reminded me:
You’re still called to live intentionally, even here, even now, in this new ministry called motherhood.
That was my wake-up call.
What Is Intentional Motherhood?
Intentional motherhood isn’t about having it all together.
It’s not a Pinterest-perfect life or a packed schedule of enriching activities.
It’s about showing up with purpose.
Choosing presence over perfection.
And building a life that aligns with your values not just reacting to the chaos.
For me, it looked like:
- Putting down my phone during playtime
- Saying “yes” to slow mornings and “no” to things that drained me
- Making space for prayer and quiet
- Reconnecting with the version of me that motherhood didn’t erase
